Our education at TISS enables us to gain a holistic view of disasters; we look at disasters not only from a technical point of view, but also from a sociological perspective. We integrate our learning from the field with planning , policy and programme formulation, and development of peoplecentred interventions. We understand that disasters need to be peeled off layer by layer and investigated under the lens of existing socio-cultural and political realities. For this we are equipped with a grounded base in theory as well as an on field experience in various disasters situations. We specialise in GIS, Public Health and Psychosocial Care apart from which we are also well versed in Transboundary Governance, Humanitarian Action, Disaster Risk Reduction, Disaster Finance etc.
